Buzsáky Ákos to sign

Today afternoon the two parties agreed on putting their signatures on the contract of Buzsáky Ákos.

As one of the biggest talents of his age, Buzsáky signed to MTK in 1999, where he played under the directions of Henk ten Cate. The Dutch coach gave the opportunity to the 17-year-old player to play on the CL qualifiers and on more than 50 matches in NB I.

In 2002 José Mourinho signed him to Porto after offering more than half million Pounds to MTK. Then, the Portugese club gave him on loan to two clubs, first to Académica and later to Plymouth. The latter club offered him with a contract and the player joined the British team’s squad for good.

Being already a national team member, in 2007 he first went to Queens Park Rangers on loan and then signed a longer contract to that club. With this club his dream came true as he had his debut in the British first league, in the Premier League.

Later, he had two by-passes at Portsmouth and Barnsley and then joined our club’s trainings in the summer where he convinced Ricardo Moniz to offer him with a contract.
So far, Ákos played 20 times in Hungary’s national side and scored two times.

At MTK our new player won the Hungarian Cup and at Porto the UEFA Cup and the Portuguese Super Cup. In England he was known as “The white Pelé” and together with QPR he won the British second League.

In 2003 he has been elected as the “Young player of the year” in Hungary and he became the “Man of the League” in England’s second league.
