Win in the last winter pre-season match over Tatran Presov – VIDEO!
Saturday afternoon Thomas Doll’s team played its last winter pre-season match. Following the Spanish training camp and three challenging training matches against Rapid Wien, Slovan Liberec and Sparta Praha, FTC closed the pre-season playing against Tatran Presov at home fields in Népliget Sports Center.
FTC played in a rather offensive spirit launching attacks on both wings and creating opportunities continuously. Yet, Tatran took the lead in the 31st minute finishing a counter attack. Six minutes later, in the 37th minute Hajnal equalized for Fradi with a nicely placed free kick from 17. In the 48th minute our team took the lead but the linesman waved his flag for offside. Then, in the 84th minute FTC actually scored the winning goal: Varga made a combination with Lovrencsics and finished the attack from 8.
This way FTC won its last pre-season game and continues the spring season against Budapest Honvéd in the domestic cup series at the Groupama Arena next Saturday.
“As the trees of Kosztolányi, so belonged I to Üllői Street. My foes might have said: Albert loiters on the FTC pitch like the trees from Üllői Street with a slight difference; they don’t have their arms on their hips. Well, I was indeed loitering; what’s more, sometimes with my arms on my hip, but between two loitering, I performed some tricks, scored some goals and pleased a few hundred thousand football friends. For me, the FTC stadium meant everything: I, the lad from the countryside, could have become and became somebody there. MY FORTUNE LEAD ME THERE SINCE SOMEWHERE UP IN THE SKY IT HAD BEEN DETERMINED THAT MY LIFE WOULD BE FERENCVÁROS.” - Flórián Albert
