This morning, the management of our football team came to an agreement with Leonardo Santiago, so it is official now that the Brazilian striker carries on his career in Ferencváros.

Leonardo started his European career in the youth teams of Feyenoord and in 2000 had the chance to debut in the first team of Feyenoord. The Brazilian player took up on the pitch of the Rotterdam team in season 2000/01 23 times, in the season after 21 times and in the latter he won with his team the UEFA Cup.

The player signed to NAC Breda in season 2005/06 in which team he was indispensable for the following year, so his performance attracted Ajax’s attention and they transferred him as well. In the team of Amsterdam he played two and a half seasons and won the Dutch Cup and the Dutch Super Cup.

Afterwards, he returned to NAC Breda where he spent two whole seasons and later, on the summer of 2011 signed to Red Bull Salzburg. As known, he lead the Austrians – with the directions of our coach, Ricardo Moniz – to a league Championship and Cup winning and besides, they passed into the knockout stages of the European League.

Formerly, Leonardo played in the Brazilian U20 – national team as well.
