FTC join the Football People campaign that increases public awareness on the unity in football – VIDEO!
FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) was called into existence in 1999 and organize now, between 9th and 23rd October the Football People action weeks. The campaign takes aim to increase public awareness of discrimination in football and to create a united front by bringing together everyone in football. No matter what our skin colour or religion is, which country we are from or which ethnicity we belong, we are all equal parts of this beautiful sport.
Football People’s action weeks attracted thousands of participants Europe-wide. Beside all Champion League and Europa League matches, and many popular clubs, many idols, such as Didier Drogba, André Schürrle, Yaya Touré or Andrea Pirlo, joined the campaign.
Ferencvárosi Torna Club are also an active participant of the FARE campaign. The club presented on a conference the actions the club has taken against racism. Furthermore, Ferencvárosi TC are now contributing to the success of the campaign with the campaign video below.
In our FARE campaign video Zoltán Gera, Roland Lamah, Pedrag Bosnjak and Attila Busai share their views on racism having no place in football.
“As the trees of Kosztolányi, so belonged I to Üllői Street. My foes might have said: Albert loiters on the FTC pitch like the trees from Üllői Street with a slight difference; they don’t have their arms on their hips. Well, I was indeed loitering; what’s more, sometimes with my arms on my hip, but between two loitering, I performed some tricks, scored some goals and pleased a few hundred thousand football friends. For me, the FTC stadium meant everything: I, the lad from the countryside, could have become and became somebody there. MY FORTUNE LEAD ME THERE SINCE SOMEWHERE UP IN THE SKY IT HAD BEEN DETERMINED THAT MY LIFE WOULD BE FERENCVÁROS.” - Flórián Albert
