Community Champions League
Brief description of the FTC Fradi Community Champions League project.

In 2019, with the support of the European Union's Erasmus+ Sport Programme, Ferencvárosi Torna Club and other famous sports clubs such as Chelsea FC, FC Bruges, Werder Bremen, Benfica and Feyenoord launched the Community Champions League, an unusual community programme for young people.

The Community Champions League is a special league that cannot be won by results on the pitch alone, but also by active community participation and sportsmanship. In addition to match days, the young people participating in the programme take part in a number of self-development group sessions.

From 2022 onwards, the Community Champions League will be a nationwide competition co-funded by the National Crime Prevention Council. The programme will be implemented over the next 18 months and a half with the participation of schools from 4 counties (Pest, Baranya, Bács-Kiskun and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok).

In addition to match days, more than 600 young participants will take part in a series of interactive lectures on crime prevention, drug prevention, violence and conflict management, fair play and community development. The aim is to integrate the participants into society and strengthen local communities and education through sport.

Each event day will be marked by the participation of an active or former athlete of the Ferencvárosi Torna Club, and young people participating in the Programme will also have the opportunity to regularly take part in various sporting events organised by the Club.

The best teams of the Fradi Community Champions League will take part in a major tournament in the spring of 2023 at the Groupama Arena.
