Scottish guest player at our walking football team
The walking footballers completed two more sessions, preparing for the first Hungarian inter-club competition.

Ferencváros’s walking footballers meet twice a week according to the 2022 spring schedule. On Tuesdays, the focus is on practising the elements of the game and on exercises to develop and maintain cognitive skills, while on Thursdays the main focus is on the competition against each other.

Two new faces have emerged this week. Tuesday's newcomer, Jolán Szénási, wife of one of our first walking footballers, joined after a year and a half of cheering and increased the ladies' members to 3. As we've often said, physicality is not a factor in walking football, only ability, so ladies and men can enjoy playing together equally. And Thursday's tournament also saw the first ever women's goal in the history of our walking football team, thanks to the assist of our rookie.

Our other newcomer came from the Józsa district of Debrecen. Born in the immediate vicinity of Glasgow's Celtic Park, green-and-white-blooded Scotsman Paul Milne was introduced to walking football in Milton Keynes, England, and moved to Hungary to pursue his passion. He is delighted that Ferencváros has already started to pave the way for his newly founded Józsa Kickers to join him, and as part of the partnership we have invited him to our home tournament on Thursday. "Our 'Legion trialist' gave us a taste of the tougher, but fair, British walking football by strengthening the team named after Mátér Fenyvesi. With less success for the time being, as they finished 3rd in the four-team home tournament, behind Sárosi and Albert, only ahead of Varga's team with a better goal difference. However, they have no reason to be sad, as the joy of the game is the most important thing, and they will soon be able to improve their game, as they will be invited to their next tournament on 9 April with the team from Debrecen in Yorsa, which will be the first walking football club meeting in Hungary.
