The squad of our defending Hungarian champions, UEL top-flight men's football team, continues to grow. After the arrival of Lenny Joseph from the French second division, we have signed 23-year-old left winger Aleksandar Cirkovic from Serbian top flight side Topola.
Introduction
Aleksandar Cirkovic was born on 21 September 2001 in Smederevska Palanka in central Serbia. Cirkovic was introduced to football at FC Admira Wacker Mödling, an Austrian club founded in 1905, before moving to Perchtoldsdorf in 2010. A year and a half later, he joined Vösendorf and returned to the Admira academy in 2012.
In 2018, he made his debut for FC Admira II, and two years later, in 2020, he also made his senior debut. In February 2021, he was loaned to Serbian second division side Macva in the hope of more playing time, where he spent six months. After his return from loan he did not stay in Austria, signing for Spanish third division side Gimnástic de Tarragona. He spent six months in Spain before returning to Serbia, where he was signed by Vozdovac.
Six months later, in August 2022, he was signed by Russian side KS Samara. He spent one season at the Samara club, scoring 3 goals in 20 games. In July 2023 he returned to Serbia on loan, this time to Topola. His performance impressed the professional staff, and after a six-month loan deal, he was signed permanently by the club, who are also in the main Conference League table, in the summer of 2024. In total, he scored 21 goals and 9 assists in 68 games for Topola.
On 2 June 2022, he also made his debut for the Serbian U21 national team. He first played 70 minutes against France's senior team (they lost 2-0) and 45 minutes in a 1-1 draw against the Faroe Islands.
