Biography
Rasmus Thelander was born on 9 July 1991 in Copenhagen. He started his career with Harlev IF and Akademisk Boldklub, the latter becoming his first professional club in January 2010. He made a total of 43 appearances for this club in the Danish second division until 2012, when he moved within the country to sign for top-flight side Aalborg BK.
He has spent most of his time with Aalborg, making 156 appearances between 2012 and 2015 and 2019 and 2022. In his first period at Aalborg, in 2014, he appeared in the UEFA Europa League group stage and then the first round of the knockout stages, but he also has experience of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Then, in the 2013/2014 season, he was part of the Danish champions and cup winners Aalborg.
The Aalborg years also gave Rasmus Thelander the chance to experience life as a player abroad, as he played for Panathinaikos in Greece from 2015-2017, Zurich in Switzerland from 2017-2018 and Vitesse in the Netherlands from 2018-2019. In Switzerland, he celebrated a cup win four years ago.
He returned to Aalborg three years ago, in the summer of 2019, where he has been counted on as team captain on several occasions since last season. His contract expired with his current employer, so he agreed a free transfer deal with Fradi.
Rasmus Thelander is the fourth signing for Ferencváros after Adama Traoré, Mats Knoester and Xavier Mercier.
