
Our men's football team has added another player to its squad, with four-time Armenian international midfielder Edgar Sevikyan set to play in green and white in the spring season. The 22-year-old left winger arrives at Népliget from Nizhny Novgorod.
INTRODUCTION
Edgar Sevikyan was born in Moscow in 2001. His ancestors are Armenian, he himself is a dual Armenian-Russian citizen.
At the age of five he started playing football for Lokomotiv Moscow, from where he joined Levante at the age of 16. He made 44 appearances for the Spanish club's second team in two years, scoring four times. He also made his first-team debut for Spain before moving to Nizhny Novgorod. In Russia he played 40 matches, scoring eight goals and having one assist.
Sevikyan played for the Russian national youth team before deciding to play for the Armenian national team. He made his international debut in the autumn of 2023 and since then has worn the national jersey four times.
