The squad of our 36-time Hungarian champions men's football team continues to take shape. Joining the team is Brazilian midfielder Cadu, who last season played for Czech club Viktoria Plzen.
Cadu was born on 8 August 1997 in Salvador, Brazil, and played for EC Olímpia and Fluminense in his native country. The midfielder, who can play on both wings of midfield, joined Czech club Pardubice in 2020, where he played 72 matches in two years, scoring 15 goals and 13 assists, and won the Czech second division with his team.
In the summer of 2022, Cadu made a switch within the Czech Republic, joining Viktoria Plzen, but his new team immediately loaned him to Banik Ostrava, where he scored six times in 28 appearances in one year. After his loan spell, Plzen recalled him and he became a regular for the Red and Blue, featuring in 97 games, scoring eight times and assisting 19 times.
In the 2024/25 season, he played in 49 matches and scored twice, while he reached the last 16 of the Europa League with his team and was a starting line-up player for Plzen in both legs of the last eight against us.
- Cadu has a wealth of experience. He arrives from one of the top teams in a high-quality league, Viktoria Plzen. He has spent years in the Czech league, where he has been a podium finisher, and has also excelled on the international stage, as we have seen for ourselves. He is a versatile footballer who can play on either side of the defence and, depending on the system of play, can also be a great long runner on either side. He is a defender who plays with great intensity and attacking awareness. We are pleased to have convinced him to join us. His arrival will improve our quality and the variation options for the coach," said Tamás Hajnal, sporting director of our football team.
After 2022, Balázs Borbély will once again join Ferencvaros, potentially opening a new chapter for our club.
The head coach of the FTC men’s football team is leaving. Robbie Keane has decided to leave the club.
