CLOSE DEFEAT IN OUR SECOND TRAINING MATCH
Stanislav Cherchesov's team played a preparation match against Piast Gliwice from Poland.

FTC started their training camp on Wednesday with a 2-0 win over FC Augsburg from the German top flight, and continued on Sunday against Piast Gliwice. The conditions at the La Nucía stadium were good this time too, with our second training match starting in bright sunshine and 20 degrees Celsius. Our head coach, Stanislav Cherchesov, this time opted to start with Bogdan - Wingo, S. Mmaee, Kovacevic, Paszka - Vécsei, Esiti - Osei, Lisztes, Auzqui - R. Mmaee.

First half

The Polish team had the first chance of the match in the 4th minute, but Piast missed a shot after a clearance. Four minutes later, the opponents tried to score from a cross, but Ádám Bogdán did not have to save the ball and it went over the crossbar. Piast started more energetically than Augsburg last time, as was shown in the 14th minute when a shot was blocked by Bálint Vécsei. After the corner kick, there was no danger in front of our goal.

The first Fradi attempt could have come in the 17th minute, when Lóránd Pászka curled in from a promising angle from a free kick, but the Piast defence was able to block it. Unfortunately, from the counter-attack our opponents took the lead: Samy Mmaee lost the ball inside the penalty area, which was flicked on by Damian Kadzidor. After his cross, Kamil Wilczek fired into the goal to make it 0-1.

After the first goal, the game did not change much, we could see mostly fieldplay. When it wasn't, Piast had the better of the play, for example in the 36th minute the Poles were able to take a corner, but failed to create any danger. FTC's coach made a substitution, Samy Mmaee was replaced by Mats Knoester, but it didn't change the score: after one half Piast Gliwice were 1-0 up.

Second half

Another change was made at the break by Stanislav Cherchesov, with Krisztián Lisztes replaced by Giorgi Kharaishvili. Ádám Bogdán had to make a save in the first minute after he was offered a powerful shot, but our goalkeeper made a diving save. The striker Ádám Halmai, who spent the autumn season in the second division Soroksár, joined the Ferencváros squad before the training camp in Spain.

The first danger in the second half came in the 62nd minute, when Lóránd Pászka's cross was saved by the Piast goalkeeper. Substitutes Dávid Sigér and youngster Zétény Varga came on, but our next chance was still to come: in the 77th minute Mats Knoester headed a shot on goal that missed the target. Marquinhos then came on for Ryan Mmaee. Our freshly substituted Brazilian immediately threatened with a header, but it hit the post and was cleared by Kharaishvili. In the 85th minute a Polish shot hit the side netting. Piast Gliwice came close to equalising a minute before the end of normal time, but Halmai's header was saved by Marquinhos and Piast Gliwice won 1-0.

Our team has one more match left in the training camp in Spain, on Monday against Viktoria Plzen from the Czech Republic.
