Our 36-time Hungarian defending champions welcomed Scottish side Rangers in the sixth round of the UEFA Europa League group stage. Our team, which is still undefeated in this year's competition, started the match with Gróf, Cissé, Raemaekers, Szalai, Makreckis, Tóth, Ötvös, Kanikovszki, O'Dowda - Varga, Yusuf.
First half
Yusuf threatened right away in the third minute, starting on the left wing and shooting from a slightly sharp angle, but his attempt rolled past the left post. In the following minutes, the visitors showed that they had come to the Groupama Arena for three points, launching several dangerous attacks, but they were unable to get a shot off. In the ninth minute, Yusuf won a corner, and after a combination, Makreckis shot over the goal.
Just under ten minutes later, we got another corner kick, and after the cross, the ball bounced around inside the box before finding Raemaekers, who shot just wide of the left post from 11 meters out. In the 28th minute, Rangers scored when Miovski lobbed the ball into Dávid Gróf's goal (0-1). Our team could have responded quickly when Yusuf found himself in a good position in front of Butland's goal, but he only hit the side netting. The equalizer came in the five minutes of added time, with Makreckis and Alex Tóth combining beautifully on the right, then Cissé took the ball to the baseline, from where he passed it into the middle, and Ötvös shot into the goal (1-1)!

Second half
In the 50th minute, Varga received an excellent pass and shot at goal, but his attempt was blocked at the last moment by a sliding Scottish defender. Six minutes later, Makreckis crossed the ball, Varga nodded it on, but the attempt flew past the goal. Shortly after, Alex Tóth shot from distance, but Butland dived to catch his low shot.
In the 73rd minute, O'Dowda took an excellent cross, brought it inwards, then curved it towards the center, and Barnabás Varga headed it into the visitors' goal (2-1)! Seven minutes later, substitute Joseph threatened, but the ball went out for a corner.

In the final minutes, the Scottish team pushed forward and did everything they could to equalize, but our defense held firm, and our team came back from a one-goal deficit to win 2-1, remaining undefeated with 14 points in the UEFA Europa League. With this magnificent victory, we have secured our place in the spring round of the UEFA Europa League!
