The highlight of the week for sure has been winning over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League group stage, but afterwards we still had an important league game in Debrecen. The match was played in cold weather with heavy rain and strong wind. We had higher ball possession in the beginning of the match but then the home team created several chances that only Dibusz could stop from turning to a goal. Then, Besic suffered an injury so in the middle of the first half he needed to be replaced, Vécsei arrived on to the pitch.
The first half ended with 0-0 and after the players returned to the pitch, we immediately received a goal: DVSC took a corner and Bévárdi finished the attack successfully. After the goal we had chances for scoring an equalizer, for example in a situation when Ryan was pushed down inside the box: the VAR room decided though that it was no penalty, therefore we continued in disadvantage. In the 63rd minute we received the second goal which made our situation even harder. Head coach Stöger sent three new players in and although Uzuni was very close to scoring, his shot hit the bar, the result stayed 2-0 and we left Debrecen with zero points.
