Sunday night the Hungarian first division continued for Ferencváros with an away derby against Újpest FC. After 8 won derbies in the past season, we aimed at continuing a good streak and this dedication showed on the players throughout the match. The goal did not come easy though, as the only goal of the match was scored by Loncar in the middle of the second half. It was a somewhat lucky situation as his shot bounced from a defender's leg over the goalkeeper and into the net. It was not a boring match however, we hit the bar twice and had one-on-one chances throughout the game. Although Újpest played a bit shy in the first half, in the second 45 minutes, the last-moment saves from Dibusz were also required for the triumph.
This 1-0 victory was the first win not only in the spring but also for head coach Cherchesov. Never a worse win to start with.
