The 30-year-old Elton Ofoi Acolatse was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on July 25, 1995. The winger trained at the prestigious Ajax Academy between 2003 and 2013. He made his senior debut in 2013 with Ajax's second team, Jong Ajax, where he scored six goals in 64 league games.
He spent the 2016-17 season with Westerloo, then joined Club Brugge, where he did not get any playing time. He spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Sint-Truiden, which club bought him at the end of the season, and he remained with the Limburg team until 2020. He scored three goals in 73 league games for the yellow and blues.
From Sint-Truiden, he first went on loan and then permanently to Israeli club Hapoel Be'er Sheva, but spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Turkish club Bursaspor. In 2023, he joined Diósgyőr via Israeli club FC Ashdod, where he quickly became a regular starter. He has scored 16 goals and provided 17 assists in 70 league games for the Borsod-based team. In the current season, he has scored 8 goals and provided 8 assists in 18 games in the FIZZ League, while he has provided 2 assists in the MOL Hungarian Cup.
He has also played for the Dutch U17, U18 and U20 national teams, celebrating the European Championship title with the youngest age group in 2012. In the final against Germany, he scored the equalizer in the 91st minute and then made no mistake in the penalty shootout.
