Ferencváros has been unbeaten for 61 league matches at home fields, which has truly been a remarkable run. Unfortunately, this winning series was put to an end today against DVTK. In the first match of 2021 our team played dominantly, one could say even that it was a one-sided affair. However, our players could not convert their corners and chances into goals, while Diósgyőr scored from its single chance. The opponent’s striker Suljic was sent in as a substitute in the 83rd minute, then within a few seconds he received the ball and managed to finish the attack. Two minutes later the head coach of DVTK decided to substitute him directly with a more defensive player, this way protecting their lead. Ferencváros pressured for an equalizer until the last moment, Isael’s shot was barely blocked by the keeper, but the result remained unchanged: FTC – DVTK 0-1.
