Ferencváros beat Irish side Shamrock Rovers 4-1 on aggregate in the UEFA Europa League play-offs to progress to the group stage. FTC's recent performances in international cup competitions moved us to the third pot in the UEFA Europa League group stage ahead of Friday's draw.
With this season's UEL final taking place at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, FTC's former footballer Zoltán Gera, who played in the UEFA Europa League final for Fulham in 2010 and will now be the ambassador for the final, has been invited to the Istanbul draw.
Gera first drew the first and then the second teams in the first and second pots. Ferencváros were then drawn in the third and finally the fourth. Our former footballer drew the Hungarian champions in Group H.
It was thus decided that FTC will play Serbian champions Crvena Zvezda, French side Monaco and Turkish side Trabzonspor.
The official dates of the matches will be decided later. However, UEFA has announced the scheduled match dates in advance, which are as follows:
Matchday 1: 8 September
Matchday 2: 15 September
Matchday 3: 6 October
Matchday 4: 13 October
Matchday 5: 27 October
Matchday 6: 3 November
