The UEFA Europa League Group stage continued today for our team with a match against CSKA Moscow away. The match started evenly balanced with smaller chances on both ends. The first bigger opportunity opened in front of the Russian team but soon after our players caused danger as well. In the 19th minute Tokmac had a one-on-one opportunity but his shot was a bit too wide. This continued in the remaining part of the first 45 minutes: bigger and smaller chances were created in front of both the home and the away goals.
In the second half we dominated the match more but in the 72nd minute CSKA was only centimeters away from taking the lead. Yet, they missed it, and then came our moments: first Tokmac launched a rocket, then Ihnatenko’s pass was blocked and finally in the 87th minute Varga scored for Fradi. With this goal we reached a great and somewhat unforeseen result: we won 1-0 over CSKA Moscow away.
After three games in the group stage, our team has already collected four points.
