
On Monday 6 March it became official that the 29-year-old Chilean international winger Ángelo Sagal, from Turkish side Gaziantep FK, will continue his career at Ferencváros.
Introduction
Ángelo Sagal was born on 18 April 1993 in Talca, 255 km from Santiago, the capital of Chile. It was here that he learned the basics of football before joining two-time Chilean champions Huachipato in July 2013. He played 55 matches for the Talcahuano side, scoring 14 goals and 6 assists.
In the summer of 2017, he not only changed clubs but also countries, signing for Mexican side Pachuca. In Mexico, he immediately became a regular, featuring in 75 games, scoring 14 goals and serving 10 assists. Two years later, he was loaned by FC Juárez, also from Mexico, before moving to Europe in September 2020, joining Turkish club Denizilispor. A year later he changed clubs domestically, signing for Gaziantep FK. There he made 51 appearances, scoring 6 goals and 3 assists.
Sagal made his debut for the Chilean national team on 28 January 2015 in a 3-2 friendly win against the USA. Since his debut, he featured in 17 more matches, scoring two goals, against Iceland and Romania. In the national team, he has played alongside such players as Alexis Sánchez, who won the league title, FIFA Club World Cup, Spanish Cup, Spanish and European Super Cups with Barcelona, and two-time Copa America winner Gary Medel.
After 2022, Balázs Borbély will once again join Ferencvaros, potentially opening a new chapter for our club.
