Ferencvárosi Torna Club and Real Madrid are set to meet once again! The two sides last faced each other on 1 November 1995, making this a truly rare and special occasion. On Saturday, 8 August, kick-off is at 19:00 at Groupama Arena for what promises to be an unforgettable football match.
Real Madrid, currently holding their pre-season training camp in Austria, will take on FTC's men's football team, Hungary's record 36-time league champions and 25-time Hungarian Cup winners. While the Galácticos have previously played on Üllői Road, this will be their first-ever appearance at Groupama Arena.
Real Madrid is one of the most successful and recognisable football clubs in the world. Founded in the Spanish capital in 1902, the club has built a unique legacy through legendary players, countless trophies and unforgettable achievements. Their honours include 15 UEFA Champions League/European Cup titles, 36 La Liga championships, 20 Copa del Rey triumphs, 13 Spanish Super Cups, six UEFA Super Cups and nine FIFA Club World Cup titles.
Some of football's greatest-ever players have worn the famous white shirt, including Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raúl González, Iker Casillas, Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modrić. On the touchline, another global icon has returned: José Mourinho is back at the club after a 13-year absence. Mourinho also has a special connection to Fradi's home, having managed Chelsea in the opening match of Groupama Arena against Zoltán Gera’ and his teammates, in August 2014.
Real Madrid has always been synonymous with winning, world-class players and attacking football, which is why many consider them the most successful club in football history. It is no coincidence that the star-studded side of the early 2000s became known worldwide as the "Galácticos".
Ferencváros and Real Madrid have met twice before, both occasions in competitive fixtures. Our club made its UEFA Champions League group stage debut during the 1995/96 season, when we were drawn alongside reigning European champions Ajax, Swiss side Grasshoppers and Real Madrid.
The first meeting took place on 18 October 1995 in Madrid, where we suffered a 6-1 defeat, with Goran Kopunović scoring our only goal. The return match in Budapest, however, told a very different story. On 1 November, Ferencváros earned a memorable 1-1 draw against the star-studded Spanish giants at Üllői Road, with Flórián Albert Jr. scoring the goal of FTC. Ferencváros eventually finished third in the group, while Real Madrid advanced in second place.
Ticket sales will begin exclusively for 2026/27 FTC league season ticket holders on Monday, 27 July, at 14:00!
For the first 24 hours of sales, until Tuesday, 28 July at 14:00, only supporters holding a valid 2026/27 NB I season ticket will be eligible to purchase tickets for the FTC-Real Madrid match.
Supporters who have purchased their season ticket by 14:00 on Monday, 27 July, will qualify for this priority sales period, meaning there is still time to secure a season ticket before sales begin.
Please note that tickets for season ticket holders are subject to availability. Should the match sell out, tickets will be allocated in chronological order based on the purchase date of the season ticket. In practice, supporters who already owned a season ticket before the publication of this announcement are guaranteed the opportunity to purchase a ticket, while those buying one during the following days will only be able to do so if seats remain available.

Season ticket holders are not required to purchase a match ticket for their usual seat and may instead choose any available seat in the stadium.
PLEASE NOTE: Unlike our usual international matches, season ticket seats have NOT been reserved for their holders on this occasion. This means any available seat may be purchased by any eligible supporter. As a result, some season ticket holders may find that their regular seat is no longer available because it has already been purchased by another supporter or reserved by the organisers. We appreciate everyone's understanding.
Each supporter card linked to a season ticket may be used to purchase one ticket only!
Any remaining tickets will become available to supporters without season tickets once the priority sales period has concluded.
Supporters who already possess an FTC supporter card do not need to complete any additional registration. They can purchase tickets using their existing card via our renewed online ticketing platform at https://meccsjegy.fradi.hu/.
We also offer a ticket purchasing option for supporters who do not yet have an FTC supporter card. While a supporter card remains mandatory for stadium entry, we have introduced a special virtual supporter card exclusively for the FTC-Real Madrid match.
To obtain this match-specific virtual supporter card, supporters must complete the pre-registration form available at meccsjegy.fradi.hu under the dedicated "REAL MADRID PRE-REGISTRATION" menu. Please complete this form only if you do NOT already have an FTC supporter card.
Please note that the virtual supporter card is valid exclusively for the Real Madrid match. Since pre-registration applies only to this fixture, all virtual card data will be deleted after the event, and the card will become invalid.
Supporters wishing to attend future Ferencváros matches will need to obtain a standard FTC supporter card. More information about the supporter card and the registration process can be found here:
