FTC – Real Betis 1-3
Close defeat from Real Betis at the Groupama Arena.

Tonight Ferencváros played its first home match of the Europa League group G, the opponents were Real Betis while on the other fixture, Celtic played against Bayer Leverkusen. There was no huge difference between the teams in terms of quality of play although we could not celebrate much today as the visitors scored first in a somewhat unexpected situation in the 17th minute. After the goal we continued pushing and this pressure turned into a goal in the 44th minute when Uzuni stole the ball from the Betis defenders and then scored from 20 in a one-on-one situation. The Albanian striker played with outstanding motivation and success rate.

In the second half the match felt like a match that typically ends with a draw, a game between equal teams but the giant screen showed something different at the moment of the final whistle. In the 71st minute a corner shot bounced into the goal from our defender Wingo, and in extra time, when we opened up and attacked even including Dibusz, Betis finished the match with a last-minute goal.

Despite the result, well done for Ferencváros today.
