After a 3-1 win against Újpest, Ferencvaros, the defending Hungarian champions and winners of the Hungarian Cup and UEL group, visited Kisvárda in the 19th round of the OTP Bank League. Stanislav Cherchesov started the match with Dibusz - Botka, Kovacevic, Knoester, Civic - Esiti, Besic - Traoré, Zachariassen, Marquinhos - R. Mmaee.
First half
Our side had the first chance of the match, in the fifth minute Traoré tried from a left wing corner but the ball hit the side netting. Moments later, we had another chance to take a corner kick, but this time the home defence managed to clear. In the 13th minute Ryan Mmaee was in position but Hindrich saved.
After a sliding tackle by Kisvarda, Besic was left on the ground, the medical crew came and although the Bosnian midfielder still went back on the pitch, Stanislav Cherchesov replaced him, Vécsei came on. In the 27th minute, Marquinhos would have stepped past his defender, but the Brazilian was eventually stopped by a foul. Ryan Mmaee, who scored a great goal against Újpest, took the free kick, but his shot was blocked by the line.
With ten minutes left in the first half, Kisvárda threatened with a header from a corner, but the attempt missed the target. In the 42nd minute, Ryan Mmaee was given a great start and after a bodycheck and a change of pace, he fired a right-footed shot but it was inaccurate. Then Traoré was on target but his left-footed shot found Hindrich.
Second half
In the first minutes after half time, Kisvárda had several chances but could not take advantage of them. In the 50th minute, Dibusz punched the ball out of the front of the goal, just in front of Karabelyov, who shot into the goal after an adjustment, but the video referee indicated that an offiside preceded the goal, so the score remained 0-0. With half an hour to go, two substitutions were made: Marquinhos and Esiti left the pitch and Auzqui and Sigér arrived.
In the 62nd minute, Ryan Mmaee's left-footed shot narrowly missed the home goal, and seconds later Camaj tried to cross but Dibusz saved. In the 69th minute, the Hungarian goalkeeper again made a great save. Wingo replaced Auzqui for the last quarter of an hour. In the 82nd minute Ryan Mmaee missed a free kick. Shortly afterwards, Botka's cross was not well struck by Traoré. Traoré was in position again after Wingo's deep cross, but our player was already in an offside position and there was no further opportunity this time.
Our team will next host Kecskemét on Saturday 18 February at the Groupama Arena.
