Young Hungarian national player signed
Péter Baráth will continue his career at Ferencváros Torna Club!

It is now official that Hungarian national team midfielder Péter Baráth, who we managed to acquire from DVSC, will continue his career at Fradi. The 20-year-old midfielder is considered by many to be one of the biggest promises of the coming years.

- We have been watching Péter's performance for a very long time. We have been following him ever since he secured his place in the top division. It was obvious that he is a young Hungarian player with great potential. Despite his young age, he still has the right amount of experience. Fradi is a big step, but we are very happy that Peter has chosen this path and accepted this challenge. We are confident that it will be a good decision in the short, medium and long term. We are happy that we were able to sign a young Hungarian talent in his person", said sporting director Tamás Hajnal.

Introduction

Péter Baráth was born on 21 February 2002 in Kisvárda. The midfielder started playing football in Gyulaháza, south of his hometown, in 2008 and joined Kisvárda's academy in 2015. Another change in the young footballer's life came in 2016, when he was signed by Debrecen VSC, where he was promoted to the senior team in January 2020, and in the 4-0 win against Újpest he was able to make his debut in the championship match of the seven-time Hungarian champions, where he played in six more matches.

The following season, he became a regular at Debrecen, and his contribution to DVSC's return to the NB I with five goals and four assists in 22 league games shows this. In the 2021/2022 season, Péter Baráth found the back of the net twice in 32 matches and assisted four times. The two goals came in a match against Gyirmót on 15 April 2022.

In 15 matches this season, he has two goals and three assists to his name, and in 83 games overall, he finished his time in Debrecen with nine goals and 12 assists. This season he has scored against Honvéd and Újpest.

Péter Baráth's excellent, consistent performance has benefited not only DVSC, but also the Hungarian youth national teams in recent years, as the 20-year-old player has a total of 22 matches in the national junior teams, and on 7 November 2022, he even made his debut in Marco Rossi's adult national team in the preparation match against Luxembourg. The potential of this young footballer, alongside his performances on the pitch, is demonstrated by the fact that he was awarded the 'Discovery of the Season' award at the RangAdo Gala 2022, as well as the 'Best of the Season' trophy, The Zilahi Award, which has previously been awarded to DVSC players such as Dániel Tőzsér, who also played for FTC, Adamo Coulibaly, the multiple Hungarian top scorer, and two of the club's legends, Tamás Sándor and Péter Halmosi.
