KNOCKOUT WIN AGAINST DVSC
Ferencváros beat DVSC 5-1 at home in the 31st round of the OTP Bank League.

Thirty five times Hungarian champion FTC played at home against DVSC in the 31st round of the OTP Bank League. The players came to the pitch with their mothers to celebrate Mother's Day. Following the idea of President Gábor Kubatov, both Fradi and Loki did their best to make this year's celebration special for the players and their mothers. After weeks of organisation, this time the mothers accompanied their children onto the pitch. From Africa to Scandinavia, from Eastern Europe to South America, mothers, and in some cases mothers-in-law, came to Népliget to witness the gesture and to watch Fradi's training already on Saturday.

The most special situation was for the mother of Márk Szécsi and Gergő Szécsi, who has children on both teams. The mothers - 21 from Ferencváros and 15 from Debrecen - took a photo with the players after the ceremonial line-up. You can find out more interesting details about the unique project on Tuesday's Fradi TV on M4 Sport.

Our club president Gábor Kubatov also presented an award to Edgar Sevikyan after our Armenian player came first in the HSA Player of the Month poll. Our team, which has already secured the championship title and reached the Hungarian Cup final, played against Loki with the starting line-up of Dibusz - Botka, Abena, Cissé, Ramírez - Maiga, Abu Fani, Katona - Traoré, Varga B., Lisztes.

First half

Our team hit the Debrecen net right in the first minute. Adama Traoré shot into Megyeri's goal, but the referee disallowed the goal because of an offside. Our team played with great energy after the start, trying to keep the pressure on the opponent's goal. In the seventh minute, Lisztes started a solo, showed some brave moves and shot, but his attempt missed Megyeri's goal. In the 12th minute Loki threatened through Baranyai, but his shot went over the top and Dibusz did not have to intervene. In the 16th minute, Barnabás Varga had a promising chance, but the Debrecen defenders saved to a corner in the last minute. Four minutes later, DVSC had a chance to take a corner, after which Ferenczi was on target, but his shot missed Dibusz's net. In the 28th minute, we took a corner, Traoré had a header on goal completely empty, but it missed the target. In the 33rd minute, we threatened again from a corner: after Abu Fani's corner, Maiga shot from the far side of the penalty area, but the visiting defence saved before Abena arrived. In the 43rd minute, our team created the biggest chance of the half: Katona launched a magnificent ball to Traoré, but our legionnaire could not outwit Megyeri, and his flat shot was blocked by the visiting goalkeeper. In the end, no goal was scored in the first half.

Second half

At the break, DVSC made two substitutions, Romanchuk for Ojediran and Máté Tuboly for Szuhodovszki. In the second half of the game, our team started with a lot of energy, which soon paid off: in the 49th minute we took the lead by Abena (1-0)! Katona got the ball on the left, brought Cisse into the game, whose shot was cleared away by the goalkeeper. We kept up the momentum and didn't have to wait long for another goal! In the 57th minute, Abu Fani gave a sensational cross to Traore, who crossed in from the right wing and then bombed a powerful shot into Megyeri's goal (2-0). In the 62nd minute the third Fradi goal came close: Traoré crossed unselfishly from the left in front of Barnabás Varga, who missed the target. Fortunately, we quickly restored the two-goal advantage: in the 67th minute, Lisztes fought for a penalty, which Barnabás Varga converted into a goal (3-1). Our striker scored his 20th goal in the OTP Bank League this season, which brought him one step closer to the title of goal king.

In the 73rd minute we scored our fourth goal! Abena found the back of the net for the second time (4-1). Katona came on the rebound, Abena put his foot in his shot and the ball ended up in Loki's goal. In the 80th minute, Varga Barnabás passed back to Abu Fani from near the sixteen-meter line and scored a beautiful goal from 17 metres (5-1).A few minutes later, Kodro headed towards the Debrecen goal from the near post, but his shot was saved by Megyeri. Sevikyan then shot from 20 metres out, his effort was saved by Megyeri for a corner.

Our team triumphed 5-1 against Debrecen thanks to a great second half performance.
