Our 36-time Hungarian champion men's soccer team has been strengthened by another player, as Krisztián Lisztes Jr. returns to Népliget. At the end of the 2023/24 season, he signed with Eintracht Frankfurt as a two-time Hungarian champion.
Krisztián Lisztes Jr. was born on May 6, 2005, in Budapest. His father, former Hungarian national team midfielder Krisztián Lisztes, served our club in three periods (1993-1996, 2008, 2011-2012), winning two championships and two cups, and was a member of our 1995 Champions League team. After joining Fradi's youth academy in 2017, "little Lisztes" signed a professional contract with FTC on July 22, 2021, at the age of 16, as a promising youth player.
He made his debut in NB I on May 14, 2022, against Gyirmót, under the guidance of Stanislav Cherchesov, becoming a member of the team that won our 33rd league title. At the beginning of the following season, he made his international debut in an away Europa League playoff match against Shamrock Rovers. In the fall, he scored three goals for Soroksár SC, the "little Fradi" of NB II. In January 2023, he extended his contract with Fradi. He next played for one minute in the second leg of the UEL round of 16 against Leverkusen, then on April 2, 2023, he truly burst onto the scene at Ferencváros. In the home league match against Fehérvár, he came on at half-time with the visitors leading by one goal, and in 11 minutes he scored two quick goals to put Fradi ahead, immediately winning the hearts of the Fradi fans. At the end of April, he had 22 minutes on the pitch in an away league match against Vasas, but that was enough to decide the match and the fate of the three points with a masterful flash of brilliance. One round later, in a 3-2 derby win against Újpest, he cemented his place among the immortals by scoring against the ancient rivals, and he showed no mercy against Kisvárda either.
In the meantime, he made his debut under Zoltán Gera in the Hungarian U21 national team, immediately scoring the winning goal against Slovakia. At the end of the season, he received the Discovery of the Year award at the MLSZ Rangadó Gala.
In the 2023/24 season, he scored eight goals in twenty league games, making him the second highest scorer in FTC for the season. Krisztián Lisztes bid a stylish farewell to FTC when, on May 19 against Újpest, Barnabás Varga handed him the penalty kick, which he confidently converted. Krisztián Lisztes left FTC as a two-time Hungarian champion and is returning from Frankfurt.
