NIGERIAN NATIONAL TEAM MIDFIELDER SIGNS
Anderson Esiti, 27, arrives from Greek club PAOK.

FTC have signed 27-year-old defensive midfielder Anderson Esiti on Monday! The Nigerian footballer arrives from PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece, where he also played in the UEFA Conference League in the autumn.

Introduction
Esiti was born in Warri on 24 May 1994, but started playing football in Portugal with Leixoes in the youth ranks. He was promoted to the senior side in the summer of 2013 and made 36 appearances in the 2013/2014 season in the Portuguese second division, as well as a further nine in various cup competitions. Esiti was subsequently signed by top-flight Estoril Praia, where he was able to prove his value not only in the first division but also in the UEFA Europa League. Our newest player strengthened Estoril Praia from 2014 to 2016, during which time he made a total of 57 appearances and also made his debut at the Nigerian national team in 2015.

In the summer of 2016, Esiti left Portugal to play for Belgian club KAA Gent. A compilation of his first season in Belgium is below.

During his three seasons in Belgium, he played again in the group stage of the UEL. All things considered, he has worn the shirt of Gent 95 times, and in the spring of 2019 he was part of the team that marched to the Belgian Cup final, eventually turning silver medalists.

Esiti, previously valued at €1 million by Transfermarkt, the authoritative source on the football market, moved again in 2019, but left Gent for PAOK, for €3 million, a club with which he won league silver in his first year. He also returned to the Nigeria national team, where he played his last game to date in the autumn of 2019. He returned to the Europa League for the Thessaloniki-based club in the autumn of 2020, but was loaned out to Turkish side Göztepe from January 2021. The defensive midfielder's loan was for just six months, bringing him back to PAOK since last summer.

Anderson Esiti has played in eight Conference League games this season, including qualifiers, and has made 11 appearances in the Greek top flight. He will soon be joining Ferencváros, where he will also work with compatriot Fortune Bassey, who joined the club in January this year.
