Our 36-time champion men's soccer team hosted DVSC at Groupama Arena in their last home game of 2025. Robbie Keane's team was feeling pretty confident going into the match against DVSC after their 2-1 UEL win against Rangers on Thursday. The Grof- Cadu, Cissé, Raemaekers, Szalai, Nagy B. - Tóth A., Levi, Júlio Romao - Joseph, Varga B. took to the field as the starting lineup. Before the match, our club's charitable donations were handed over.

First half

The first shot was taken by Alex Tóth, but a defender blocked it, resulting in a corner kick, which did not pose a threat. Shortly after, Gróf had to defend a close shot by the visitors. Not long after, Joseph's header went over the bar after a cross from the right. In the 20th minute, Varga broke into the box with some great footwork, but he took too long to shoot, and our goalkeeper, Ádám Varga, who is on loan at DVSC, read the play well and got the ball. In the 33rd minute, Joseph received a great pass, but lost the duel with his defender, even though he could have been in a promising position.

After Levi and Nagy forced their way through, the latter crossed into the middle, but the defense managed to clear the ball. Levi then took a dangerous free kick from the left, but in the end, no one was able to get to the ball. In the 40th minute, Joseph found himself in position again at the end of a counterattack, but his shot from the penalty area went over the bar, as did Levi's free kick from 35 meters. We came closest to scoring at the end of the first half, but Nagy's close-range shot was brilliantly saved by Varga, while at the other end, Dzsudzsák missed by just a few centimeters.

Second half

We made one substitution during the break, with Bence Ötvös replacing Júlio Romao for the second half. After a combination between Cadu and Joseph, the latter shot at goal, but Varga saved. At the other end, Szűcs' shot flew past the right post, then Gróf had to save Bárány's low shot. In the 61st minute, we made three substitutions, with Bamidele Yusuf, Cebrail Makreckis, and Gavriel Kanikovszki Levi coming on for Cadu and Joseph.

In the 68th minute, Varga's header was saved by the visitors' goalkeeper. In the 75th minute, DVSC took the lead with a goal from Bárány: the ball went to the newly substituted Komáromi, who passed to Bárány, who beat our goalkeeper with a trick (0-1). Robbie Keane used his last substitution, bringing on Gruber Zsombor to replace the injured Ötvös. In the 83rd minute, Varga had a close chance, but the DVSC goalkeeper saved it, and we were very close to equalizing. Four minutes later, Gróf kept us in the game with a huge save, but we were unable to equalize, despite chances for Gruber and Kanikovszki, and the score remained 0-1.
