Last Saturday, we defeated Valletta FC 3-1 at the Groupama Arena in the 2nd round of the Champions League Qualifiers. Tomorrow we’ll face Valletta again, but this time they have the advantage to play at home – they are welcoming us at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium.
If we look at the statistics and the past of FTC, our situation is more auspicious as we’ve almost always got into the next round with a two-goal lead.
Scoring only one goal on Tuesday would probably be enough. Last time, in the first round against Ludogorec, luckily scoring wasn’t a problem for us. Ludogrec was a stronger opponent statistically compared to Valletta, but we still managed to find their net twice during the home and three times during the away game.
„We’re able to score goals on an away game too, we’ve proved that in the first round.“ – Said Dibusz Dénes after our victory against Valletta, reassuring our ability to attack.
Barnabas Varga's early goal and Sevikjan's first FTC goal kept the three points at home.
Adama Traoré scored in the 89th minute to secure the three points against Paks.
