OUR SIXTH LEAGUE WIN IN A ROW
Ryan Mmaee's double and Samy Mmaee's header gave us a 3-0 win over Kisvárda.

Defending Hungarian champions and cup-winning football team Ferencváros were today in the domestic points chase after a brilliant 3-2 home win over Trabzonspor in the UEFA Europa League group stage during the week. Our head coach Stanislav Cherchesov had shuffled the starting eleven compared to the midweek UEL match, so the eleven of Dibusz - Pászka, S. Mmaee, Kovacevic, Civic - Sigér, Laidouni - Auzqui, Gojak, Marquinhos - R. Mmaee took to the pitch. Hungarian national team midfielder Dávid Sigér was back again in the starting line-up after 433 days.

First half

The supporters had to wait until the third minute for the first opportunity, Navratil shot from a tight angle in Samy Mmaee's grasp but missed the target. Our first chance came in the eighth minute, when Marquinhos sent a soft cross towards the far corner, where Auzqui was on hand but the defence saved. In the 16th minute, Gojak looked to pick out the rhythm-shifting Marquinhos, but the Bosnian international's cross was too strong for the Brazilian.

After a clearance, Camaj was launched but his shot widely missed Dibusz's goal. Kisvárda had another chance a minute later, but Mesanovic's cross was cut out by Kovacevic. In the 19th minute, Laidouni was brought down and a free kick was taken from a dangerous position. Pászka was on the end of the challenge, and our Tunisian midfielder took the shot, but his well taken free kick hit the crossbar and the rebound missed the target.

Halfway through the first half, Marquinhos tried a spectacular move but Hindrich saved the Brazilian winger's shot. In the 26th minute, Marquinhos passed to Civic, who moved into the empty area and was fouled by the visiting defender, a penalty followed. Ryan Mmaee took the penalty and shot confidently into the right side of the goal (1-0).

Moments later, the Moroccan striker was in position again, but his header missed Hindrich's goal. In the 34th minute Kovacevic was left on the ground, the medical crew arrived immediately, and although the Bosnian could have remained on the pitch, our head coach took no chances, and in the 38th minute Knoester replaced him.

In the closing stages of the first half, Laidouni's soft cross was no good for Ryan Mmaee, but the defence cleared inadequately and the ball went to Sigér, who fired but his shot missed the target.

The sides tried again in the final minutes, but there were no more chances in the first half and Ryan Mmaee's goal gave Fradi a 1-0 lead going into the break.

Second half

Stanislav Cherchesov made one change at the break, with Botka coming on for Pászka.

After the turnaround we had to wait until the second minute for the first chance for Ferencváros, Marquinhos shot from outside the penalty area but missed the target. Moments later Karabelyov shot but Dibusz easily saved the ball coming into the middle. Then, in the 63rd minute Ryan Mmaee slotted the ball home from a left-wing cross (2-0).

Moments later both head coaches made substitutions: Marquinhos was replaced by Tokmac Nguen and Amer Gojak by Bálint Vécsei, while Ötvös and Asani replaced Makowski and Navratil. In the 72nd minute, Samy Mmaee headed into the net following his brother's double (3-0), the first goal for the Moroccan international defender in Ferencváros.

The fourth Fradi goal could have come almost immediately, but Laidouni missed the target. Another change in the 75th minute, with Franck Boli replacing Sigér, who returned to the starting line-up after 433 days. Kisvárda tried again in the second half, but our defence held firm and the away side only got a few chances on goal.

There were no more chances in the two-minute added time, and Ryan Mmaee's double and his brother Samy Mmaee's header gave Kisvárda a 3-0 win, their sixth win in a row in the 2022/23 OTP Bank League.
