Our 32-time Hungarian champion men's football team announced their third signing of the summer. The Bosnian national team player, two-time Croatian Cup winner and single Bosnian Cup winner Stjepan Loncar. The 24-year-old football player, whose post is mostly in the middle of the midfield, comes to us from the Croatian HNK Rijeka. The player, valued by Transfermarkt at € 2.5 million, will immediately become the third most expensive footballer in NB I.
Loncar was born on November 10, 1996 in Mostar, famous for its “Old Bridge” in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. In his first leading season in Bosnia, he was given the opportunity at 23 meetings, on which he pulled off a total of five assists. He also stepped on the pitch seven times in the Bosnian cup series, including in the two-match final against FK Sarajevo, which was eventually won by Loncar’s team. So he could call himself a cup winner fairly soon.
With his impressive performance, he attracted the attention of several clubs, and finally signed to Croatia again in July 2018: the Croatian gold medalist of the 2016/17 season, HNK Rijeka, signed him. He quickly became an important starter for the team, as he was given the opportunity to play 27 times in his first league season and thanked the professional staff with two goals and three assists.
