Our 36-time champion men's soccer team played its first derby of the year against Újpest at Groupama Arena. In the clash, which was part of the 21st round of the Fizz League, Robbie Keane sent Gróf, Cissé, Gómez, Raemaekers, Osváth, Kanikovszki, Abu Fani, Ötvös, Nagy B., Kovacevic and Gruber onto the pitch as starters.
First half
Gruber and Abu Fani came close to taking the lead early in the match, but their headers didn't go in. However, in the ninth minute, Franko Kovacevic got on the end of Abu Fani's cross and made no mistake, slotting home from close range (1-0). We continued to attack, with Banai having to save Raemaekers' header, but in the 36th minute, he was powerless to stop Mariano Gómez, who scored his first league goal for our team (2-0). The Fradi show wasn't over yet, as Gavriel Kanikovszki also got on the scoresheet after a pass from Osváth, giving us a comfortable lead going into the break.

Second half
Bodnár opened the second half with a shot, but failed to find the goal. Later, Vlijter had a better attempt, but Gróf was in the right place. At the other end, Abu Fani's long-range shot was saved by Dávid Banai. In the 64th minute, we made two substitutions. Máriusz Corbus replaced Zsombor Gruber, and Júlio Romao replaced Abu Fani. In the 69th minute, Gróf had to make a great save from Gradisar's close-range shot. In the final minutes, Horváth's free kick went just over the bar, but there were no more serious chances on either side,
Our team deservedly won 3-0 and, taking advantage of Győr's slip-up in Miskolc, moved to the top of the table.
