Two new players join our team
Two former junior national players, Gera Dániel and Katona Máté are both joining FTC.

Our football team signed two young players from MTK, the 23-year-old, hard-working Máté Katona, who can be used mainly in the midfield, and the 25-year-old striker, who scored four goals and four assists in NB I this year, Dániel Gera

Máté Katona

Máté Katona, 23, started playing football in the western corner of the country, in Sopron. His talent was soon noticed in Budapest as well, and he joined MTK in 2011. He became an important player of the first team after going through all the stages of the junior teams.

In recent years, MTK spent two years in the first and second divisions. Máté Katona has been a stable point for the team throughout, playing a total of 80 NB I and NB II matches in the club between 2017 and 2021.

Dániel Gera

Gera Dániel, the 25-year-old striker made his debut in MTK's first team in 2015. He played 126 matches in the first team (NB I, NB II, Hungarian Cup, Europa League qualifiers), in which he scored a total of 22 goals, and gave 19 assists too. On November 16, 2015, he made his debut in the Hungarian U21 national team in a clash against the Greeks. He then played for the national team three times in the age group (against Israel, Albania, Liechtenstein) and scored his first goal against the Albanians.
