VALUABLE POINT AT GENK
With the 0-0 draw, FTC takes a promising position in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

With one win and a draw, the 34-time Hungarian men's champion team was waiting for the away match against KRC Genk in the 3rd round of the UEFA Conference League group stage.

In the absence of Barnabás Varga, head coach Dejan Stankovic named Aleksandar Pesic in the starting XI, while Endre Botka's inclusion made Cebrail Makreckis move up one line on the right flank. Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane was left out of the starting line-up compared to the Fiorentina game.

First half

At the arrival of our team, the 524 Fradi fans cheered on the players as if they were playing at home grounds.

Even a little rain before the game and the spectacular home fans' choreography didn't disturb Dibusz Dénes and his teammates. True, Genk quickly seized the initiative in the opening minutes, but a Cristopher Bonsu Baah effort went well over the goal. After the initial "familiarisation", Fradi settled down. We got to the front of the Genk goal several times, but there was always a home foot to mount a tackle in the dying moments.

In the 26th minute, Marquinhos scrambled in the right side of the penalty area, his shot was saved by Maarten Vandevoordt. Four minutes later, however, we almost took the lead. After a free-kick Abu Fani curled in behind the defence, finding Dávid Sigér, but the midfielder could only fire into the goal from close range.

In the 42nd minute, our former player Joseph Paintsil scared us, but what went in for Fehérvár after a similar move a few years ago, luckily for us, hit the post. The Belgians came back to life as the first half wore on. First Daniel Munoz's shot was saved by Dibusz, then from a corner Andi Zeqiri slid a shot wide of the target. But the teams went into the break with a goalless draw.

Second half
Dejan Stankovic made two changes at the break. Ben Romdhane replaced Botka, who was shown a yellow card, making Makreckis the right-back, while Ibrahim Cissé was replaced by Myenty Abena.

In the 50th minute, Zeqiri had an empty header but his effort into the middle was confidently saved by Dibusz. Genk took the lead but our defence held firm. In fact, after a foul on Pesics, Zachariassen stepped up to take a free kick quickly, but his free-kick was saved by Vandevoordt. The minor flaw of the attack was that our Norwegian player was on offside at the moment of the attack. At the other end, Paintsil threatened again, but his close-range shot was blocked by Dibusz, who burst out of his goal. In the 67th minute, substitute Owusu Kwabena almost repeated his brilliant goal for Cukaricki, but this time he missed the target. Soon afterwards, the Ghanaian striker hit the post from close range, albeit at an acute angle, after a corner. The attack was preceded by a great save from Dibusz.

In the minutes of extra time, Arokodare stepped on Abu Fani's foot and the referee gave him a yellow card, but the video referee also reviewed the incident for a possible red card.
Aleksandar Stavrev also looked at the incident and, after withdrawing the yellow, showed Arokodare the red, so we attacked in the last minutes with a man advantage. In the 94th minute, Lisztes lifted the ball back into the penalty area, but Sigér could not hit the ball well.

All in all, our men's football team played out a goalless 0-0 draw in Belgium and remain unbeaten in Group F.
