The Hungarian eternal derby between FTC and MTK was played today away. MTK won the second league in the past season and qualified this way for the first division, while our team won its 31st championship title in NB I.
Today both teams played open and aggressive football with a number of new players in the squad. Ferencvaros could have scored already in the 5th minute but the MTK goalkeeper stood still and saved the shot. Only a couple minutes later Dibusz showed two nice saves within one attack. The chances followed each other, the supporters definitely could not get bored. In the 37th minute MTK succeeded to convert one of these attacks to a goal: Gera D. scored after Ramos’ crossing. After half time we played with more creativity and equalized in the 59th minute: Tokmac played well during the entire match and this time placed the ball to the net with an accurate shot. We could have turned the result but our forwards missed their further chances so today we needed to get satisfied with only one point.
