We beat Fehérvár, the title is within reach!
After Milicevic's own goal, Pesic and Tóth scored in the last home game of the season.

Puskás Akadémia's 1-0 win on Friday made it certain that the 2024/25 season will be decided in the final round. We will play the unbeaten ETO FC Győr in the 33rd round, where a point could be enough to claim their 36th league title. To do so and keep the three-point lead, we had to win against Fehérvár FC, which was our team's last home match of the 2024/25 season. With this in mind, our Irish head coach Robbie Keane voted for a starting line-up of Dibusz - Gartenmann, Cissé, Szalai - Makreckis, Tóth, Keita, Zachariassen, Civic - Joseph, Pesics.

Before the meeting, the crowd in the Groupama Arena applauded the men's and women's water polo teams of our club, as the women's team celebrated their first Hungarian championship title in the history of our club, while the men's team celebrated their 27th title.

Before the starting whistle, the president of the Ferencvárosi Torna Club, Gábor Kubatov congratulated Mihály Bucsák, who played in the FTC junior team, who has performed the most outstandingly in both sports and civil life this season, and thus earned the Dr. Fenyvesi Máté Award.

First half

Our team wore their usual home green and white kit with a black armband in memory of the recently deceased mother of our Malian winger Adama Traoré.

The first chance of the match went to the visitors, but Melnyik's shot went wide of the goal. After that we quickly took the initiative, trying to play through the Fehérvár defence with quick passes. In the 12th minute Bálint Szabó was fouled by Pesic on the sideline and a free kick was awarded. Civic and Tóth were on the end of it, and the former arched into the middle, where Gartenmann's header was deflected off Milicevic's foot, and the moving Dala could not react in time, and we took the lead (1-0)!

Moments later, Tóth stepped up to take a free-kick, but Dala bravely saved our young midfielder's shot. Our team kept the pressure on Fehérvár, who only managed to get the ball occasionally in the first 30 minutes. In the 37th minute, Kalandadze's handling allowed us to take a free kick, which Joseph took from the long side, but he failed to put the ball in the goal. Within moments, we had two big chances for Fradi, first through Makreckis and then Civic, but Dala saved both times. In the 44th minute, however, he was helpless, Civic's corner kick was again forwarded by Gartenmann, and Pesics headed in, but it was an offside and the result remained 1-0.

Second half

After the turnaround, Fradi had the first chance, Pesics' headed towards Joseph who tried to finish, but it went over. In the 51st minute, Keita's solo cross put us in front of goal, but Fehérvár could save. A few seconds later Pesics headed Civic's cross into the net (2-0). Our team kept attacking the away goal, we did everything to get the third goal, thanking our fans for their uninterrupted cheers and support all season long.

In the 72nd minute, our Hungarian national team striker Barnabás Varga had a promising chance, but he drifted away after receiving the ball and his shot was blocked by Bálint Szabó. Five minutes later, Csirkovics' cross was poor and from the opposite wing, Tóth shot flat into the middle, Varga was on the end of it but Dala moved well out of his goal. In the 82nd minute, Tóth took the ball from Milicevic and went all the way to goal, making no mistake from close range (3-0). In the final minutes, Robbie Keane sent on our young Brazilian Guilherme Henrique, who was making his first senior appearance for the club.

Our men's football team eventually won 3-0 to maintain their three-point lead over Puskás Akademia. This also means that in the final round of the OTP Bank Liga, our team only need one point away to ETO FC Győr to secure their 36th league title.
