The 36-time Hungarian men's football champions have started their second round of the Champions League qualifying tournament. In the first match of the round-robin match we visited the home of Armenian FC Noah. Head coach Robbie Keane has voted for the starting line-up of Dibusz - Gartenmann, Cissé, Ötvös - Makreckis, Tóth, Keita, Levi, O'Dowda - Varga, Joseph. Interestingly, the same eleven started in the last training match of the pre-season against German Karlsruher SC.
First half
Our team in their dark green jerseys kicked off the game at the Abovyan Municipal Stadium. We led the first dangerous attack in the seventh minute, O'Dowda stormed down the left side and his cross into the middle was saved from Joseph to a corner. The corner was taken by Alex Tóth. Varga was on the end of a great cross and his header bounced off the post, inches wide of the goal. In the 15th minute Varga was kicked up in the penalty area, but the referee did not award a free kick. A minute later, Noah threatened: Omar shot wide but the ball missed Dibusz' goal. In the 17th minute, Makreckis's shot from a free-kick was missed.
In the 30th minute Alex Tóth's free kick was saved by Chancharevich. A minute later, Joseph swung in from his own half of the pitch and got a shot off, but the ball went over. In the 34th minute, O'Dowda played in Joseph, who again had a shot saved by Chancharevich. In the 36th minute, Noah took the lead: a cross from the right was touched down by Gartenmann, who made an unfortunate move and scored an own goal (1-0). In the 41st minute, we threatened again: Ötvös shot from distance, but Chancharevich deflected the attempt. In the 45th minute we equalised! After Makreckis' cross, O'Dowda headed into the Noah's goal from close range (1-1)! There were no more incidents in the first half and the teams went into the break with a 1-1 draw.

Second half
We had an excellent start to the second half, as we took the lead in the 49th minute! Levi curled the ball into the middle from the left wing, and Barnabás Varga made a great arrival and put the ball into the goal (1-2)! The home team tried to freshen up their game with a double substitution, but we remained on the attack. In the 56th minute, Levi tried to shoot instead of crossing, and the home goalkeeper Chancharevich hit the ball towards the corner.
In the 70th minute, Robbie Keane made two substitutions: Varga Pesic, who scored our second goal, was replaced by Raemaekers. Home manager Sandro Perkovic also made a change, also making a double substitution. In the 75th minute, Joseph won the ball in his own half and went on a huge solo run, but was eventually tackled by the home defenders. In the 77th minute, Joseph left the pitch and was replaced by Sevikjan, who was greeted with applause from the Armenian fans. His compatriots had already applauded him during the warm-up. In the 77th minute, Levi also came down, replaced by Maiga. In the 82nd minute, Cissé was sent off with a red card after a VAR review. In the last minute of normal time, the home side had a free kick from a dangerous position, but the shot was wide of the target. At the end of the match, Pesic was in position, but the goalkeeper saved the Serbian striker's attempt.
Ferencváros came from a goal down to win the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League, and now have a one-goal lead going into the return leg on Wednesday 30 July, for which tickets are on sale now!
