After the midweek cup win against Győr, our defending champions hosted the Rába-based team again, this time in the 22nd round of the OTP Bank Liga. In the meeting, head coach Robbie Keane voted for the starting line-up of Gróf - Makreckis, Gartenmann, Cissé, Ramírez - Tóth Alex, Júlio Romao - Ben Romdhane, Zachariassen, Csirkovics - Saldanha.
First half
After the kick-off, the sides alternated possession and although we led several attacks, we failed to create any really dangerous situations. In the 11th minute, however, the visitors took the lead after a clearance (0-1). Shortly afterwards, Saldanha broke down the right flank and sent the ball in, but there was no partner in the middle.
The second half of the first period was clearly dominated by our team, in the 33rd minute Csirkovic's shot hit the crossbar, our opponents operated mostly with counter-attacks, in the 36th minute Bumba shot over the goal at the end of a counter-attack.
Second half
Robbie Keane made one change at the break, replacing Ben Romdhane with Pesic. In the 47th minute, Cissé was fouled inside the penalty area and Benbouali scored the penalty (0-2). The second goal forced the coach to make another change, with Ramírez, Zachariassen and Júlio Romao leaving the pitch and Kehinde, Traoré and Keita replacing them.
In the 70th minute, Cissé tried to score but his long-range shot went over the goal. Seven minutes later, we came close to scoring byJoseph, who had come on in the meantime, hit the left post and the top bar, but the ball did not fall into the net.
Not like Pesic's shot, as our Serbian striker equalised in the 80th minute (1-2). Four minutes later, Alex Tóth's flat pass was forwarded into the Győr goal by Saldanha (2-2). In the second half, our team did their best to win, but they could not score another goal and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
