On Saturday, August 30, we extended the contract of one of our team's driving forces, our 19-year-old midfielder Alex Tóth, who is uncompromising on the pitch.

With the exception of a stint at Honvéd, our footballer was trained in the FTC youth academy, then gained valuable experience in our reserve team and our affiliate team, Soroksár.

Our young talent made his debut for our 34-time champion football team in a home league match against Debrecen during the 2022/2023 season. He then got another chance in the next match against Mezőkövesd, and made his last appearance of the season as a substitute in our match against Kisvárda on February 2. Alex Tóth previously received recognition from the Albert Foundation, winning the award for "Best UP Player" of the 2022/2023 season.

After a short spell at Soroksár, Alex Tóth burst onto the scene in Ferencváros' starting lineup in the second half of the 2024/25 season. The midfielder, still only 19 years old, spent 1,330 minutes on the pitch in 17 matches, scoring twice, but with eight assists, he stood out not only from the FTC squad, but also from the entire Hungarian league field.

It is no coincidence that at the end of the season, he was voted "Discovery of the Year" in the RangAdó poll.

With his uncompromising and mature play, he has earned the love of Ferencváros fans, who voted him "Fradi Footballer of the Year." What's more, with a market value of €2.5 million (Transfermarkt), he has become the most valuable Hungarian player in NB I. The CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies) compiled a list of the world's 200 best teenage players (under 20), in which Alex Tóth ranks 32nd (the first and second places are held by two young stars from Barcelona, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsí). Alex Tóth's amazing game intelligence was demonstrated in the Champions League playoff return leg against Qarabag, when, with the score at 2-2 in the 83rd minute, he surprised the Azerbaijani goalkeeper by shooting instead of passing, scoring a sensational goal that gave FTC the win, although Qarabag proved to be the better team on aggregate.

Despite his young age, Marco Rossi called Alex Tóth up to the Hungarian national team. He made his debut for the national team in the Nations League playoff return leg against Turkey at the Puskás Arena, and most recently, Marco Rossi counted on him alongside five other Ferencváros teammates, Dénes Dibusz, Barnabás Varga, Zsombor Gruber, Gábor Szalai, and Bence Ötvös, Marco Rossi is counting on him in the World Cup qualifiers against Ireland and Portugal!

Of course, we wanted to reinforce this with a contract that reflects his values and the work he has put in. That is why we wanted to amend and extend his contract, and he and his agent, Bence Papp, were partners in this, which is an exemplary collaboration, both professionally and on a human level, of which we are proud, and we would like to continue on this path, knowing, of course, that Fradi will not be the last team in Alex's development", said our sports director, Tamás Hajnal.
