The squad of our defending Hungarian championship men's football team continues to grow. From Corinthians we have signed the 25-year-old Brazilian Raul Gustavo, who plays as a centre-back.

Biography

Raul Gustavo Pereira Bicalho was born on 24 April 1999 in Pedro Leopoldo, north of Belo Horinzonte, the capital of Minas Gerais state. He has previously played football in Europe, spending a year in Croatia with Lokomitva from the summer of 2018 before returning to his homeland to play for Corinthians.

The seven-time Brazilian champions loaned him to Inter Limeira after a year on loan. After a few months, he returned to the São Paulo club, where he subsequently played for almost two and a half years. In January 2023, Bahia signed the 189 cm tall defender on loan. He played a total of 18 games for this club before returning to Corinthians. He made 53 appearances for the club from São Paulo, scoring six goals and assisting three.

The value of our Brazilian defender is estimated at €2.5 million (HUF 994 million) by German portal Transfermarkt.

- We definitely wanted to strengthen the central defensive position with a left-footed footballer, so that we could have more variation in the structure of the game. We believe that Raul will be able to support our game with his strength, speed and ability. He is twenty-five years old, a great age. We hope that he will integrate into our team as soon as possible. Tomorrow Raul will join the team for the training camp in Austria" said Tamás Hajnal, the sporting director of our football team.
