Our team played its next league match at Groupama Arena following a 2-1 victory over Kazincbarcika back in the beginning of March. The opponent this time was Diósgyőr, currently in second-to-last place.
Before the match, Pál Orosz, CEO of FTC Labdarúgó Zrt., presented the iFOREX Europe Player of the Month award, which our midfielder, Mohammed Abu Fani, earned in both February and March based on fan votes.

First Half
The visitors had the first chance and the first shot on goal of the match, but in between, our team took the first corner kick in the third minute. In the fifth minute, Abu Fani had a good scoring opportunity, but his shot from near the left corner of the box missed the visitors’ goal.
At the end of the first quarter-hour, Yusuf had to receive medical attention after a hard tackle, and minutes later, Robbie Keane was forced to substitute the limping striker, who was replaced by Lenny Joseph, who immediately created a chance in front of the Diósgyőr goal with his first solo run.
In the 23rd minute, however, came the cold shower: Dénes Dibusz could only get a hand to a bouncing cross from the left, and the ball fell right onto the head of Milán Pető, who was coming in from the center and didn’t miss the open goal from three meters out. (0-1)
In the 33rd minute, Toon Raemaekers rose well to meet Abu Fani’s free kick, heading it over the poorly positioned Megyeri, but the ball landed on top of the net. In the 39th minute, however, the visitors came within a hair’s breadth of a second goal. In the 44th minute, Abu Fani curled a free kick toward the goal from the sideline near the penalty spot, but Megyeri managed to tip the ball heading for the far corner away.
The teams went into halftime with the visitors leading 1-0.
Second Half
Robbie Keane made two substitutions at halftime, bringing on Zsombor Gruber and Elton Acolatse in place of Abu Fani and Barnabás Nagy. And the move paid off! In the 51st minute, our Dutch winger curled the ball in from the left, 20 meters out, and it flew past Megyeri and into the net! (1-1)

By the 60th minute, we were already in the lead! The visitors’ goalkeeper saved Acolatse’s shot, but Joseph ruthlessly slammed the rebound into the net. (2-1)
After taking the lead, we continued to build on our dominance; in the 69th minute, Megyeri cleared the ball off the goal line following a shot by Gruber. Then, in the 75th minute, even the goalkeeper was powerless to stop it—after Gruber’s free kick, Mariano Gómez scored Fradi’s third goal! (3-1)
Acolatsé, who had come on as a substitute at halftime and contributed a goal and an assist, had to be substituted following a foul.
We played confidently in the closing minutes to preserve our lead.
The team takes the field again on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. to make up our postponed Round 26 match against Puskás Akadémia.
