MARTIN ALBERTSEN IS OUR NEW WOMEN'S HANDBALL HEAD COACH
The Danish coach has experience from more than 200 international matches, with several titles.

As already known, Gábor Elek is leaving our women's handball team after fifteen years, and he is to be replaced by Martin Fruelund Albertsen, a Danish coach aged 39.

Martin Albertsen's playing career ended early, at the age of 22, due to an injury, after which he worked as a youth coach and also managed the Danish second division team AGF. The first big challenge came in 2002, when he was appointed head coach of Viborg HK, and he seized the opportunity, winning the championship, cup and EHF Cup with the long-established Danish club.

He then moved to German side Leipzig in 2004, winning both the league and cup two years later, before returning to Denmark, where he spent the next decade with three different teams (Randers, Viborg, Kobenhavn).

In December 2014, he took charge of German side Bietigheim and helped the club to their first ever league title in 2017, and also reached the EHF Cup final that year, but ultimately lost to Rostov-Don. He won another league title with Bietigheim in 2019, and left in 2020 after six years in the club. In 2018, he also held the position of Switzerland's national team captain, leading the national team to the European Championship for the first time in its history in 2022, and was also responsible for the Swiss handball academy since 2020, but he has stepped down from these positions and will focus exclusively on Ferencváros from mid-July.

He has won a total of five championships and three cups with his teams, and has led his teams in more than 200 international matches in the Champions League, EHF Cup and European Championship.

"I am very proud and honoured to be invited to join the Fradi family," said our new head coach. - I have followed the club's fantastic development curve for many years and I have watched with the greatest respect the great work that has been done by the staff there. I know that there are many people counting on us and I promise to come here every day with great ambition and will to learn from our victories and mistakes. I love to see the players develop and I will do everything I can to see them succeed. It's a dream come true to be the head coach of FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria, I'm very happy and I'm looking forward to working with everyone at the club - we'll try to build on the success of the previous season in the coming years."

Martin Albertsen will be assisted by Allan Heine as assistant coach and Norbert Duleba as goalkeeper coach.
