Miracle: We defeated Esbjerg
Almost Unbelievable! Without our eight players, we won in Denmark, standing up from a four-goal disadvantage!

Our women's handball team was not in an easy situation before the match, without eight of our players we still had to play in Denmark. Apart from our two goalkeepers, only 7 players were in our squad who had experience in the NB I.

Blanka Bíró and Alicia Stolle did a great job at defending, we were truly striving and fighting. Zita Szucsánszki and Anikó Kovacsics also put on a great performance. In the 19th minute, Borbála Ballai came in and played in the Champions League for the first time, from the NB I team B straight to the CL! In the break, the Danish team had a four-goal advantage (13-9).

We amazingly forced our will on the home side, and in the 38th minute, we were able to attack again for an equalizer. We had to keep on waiting for it, but in the 45th minute we caught up with Esbjerg with another sensational goal from Anikó Kovacsics (16-16).

Then Nadine Schatzl scored and we took the lead again (18-17)!

In the last minutes, the team defended with full strength, there was always a hand that reached out, we showed incredible, inconceivable strength. We were able to keep our advantage and defeated Esbjerg 21-24!
