March 3. 2019.
We gained a point in Győr
Just like a few weeks ago in Érd, this game also ended up being a draw against the ETO.

In 2019 the 2nd days of the months mean a Fradi-Győr match. The ladies’ handball team started January, February and also March with a game against ETO. This time the two teams played in the Champion’s League.

It took Győr 5 minutes to score their first goal even though our defense was in good form and played excellently. Győr scored 2 more goals quickly and we were trying very hard to even the score and avoid another goal from ETO. Two minutes before the end of the first period, Márton Gréta had a wonderful opportunity, but unfortunately, it didn’t end up being a goal. Crina Pintea of Győr on the other hand scored and we left the court with a two-goal disadvantage.

In the second period, we knew we had to play in a more offensive way. The girls did just that, they stopped giving away the balls to the opponent and didn’t miss the chances to score.

Our fans were amazing and they helped us tremendously in this period. They were much louder than the fans of Győr in their home arena. It was very uplifting and really motivated the team.  Ten minutes before the end of the period, we took the lead with the goal of Lukács Viktória, the score was 28-27. Right before the break, we had the chance to have a 2 goal advantage, but the shot of Nerea Pena didn’t end up in the net. ETO was able to score and we left for the break with a tied score.

The last period was an amazing battle between the two teams. Bíró Blanka did an amazing job avoiding another goal from Győr, Klujber Katrin and Schatzl Nadine both scored amazing goals and evened the score just 43 seconds before the end of the game.

We left Győr with a 32-32 tie.
