We worked very hard this whole season, this away game against Rostov-Don was the last thing to keep us from getting in the FINAL 4. Our fans were amazing once again, they went all the way to Russia just to support us.
The first 15 minutes were just like the last game in Érd. We had the lead at first, but couldn’t get more than a 2 goal advantage. In the 13th minute Rostov-Don scored and with that they were leading 6-5. Schatzl Nadine and Klujber Katrin both scored very important goals, but the opponent was able to get a 2 goal lead. We didn’t give up though and were fighting hard. Unfortunately for us, the goalkeeper of Rostov-Don was in great form and saved all our shots. We left for the break with a 6 goal disadvantage.
In the second half Háfra Noémi scored a Fradi goal again, but this wasn’t enough to even the scoreline. Rostov-Don was playing well and kept on scoring, quickly they were leading with 10 goals. But in spite of that our fans were still supporting us and cheering us on.
This year we weren’t able to get to the FINAL 4, but next year we’ll try again. We may be disappointed, but let’s not forget that Ferencváros has been amongst the best handball teams these years.
