The short track speed skating World Championships was held last week in Dordrecht. The skaters of FTC excelled in the competition as Liu Shaolin Sándor and Liu Shaoang both became world champions!
On Saturday Liu Shaoang earned his first world champion title on 500 meters.
On the 1000 meters, Liu Shaolin Sándor, won! Like his bother, he's taking home yet another world champion title. Liu Shaoang finished in 2nd place this time.
The line-up of great results then continued in the 3,000-meter super final for the overall world title, where Liu Shaoang finished in 6th place, but still gained enough points to become an overall world champion. Liu Shaolin Sándor finished 3rd in the super final, winning the complex World Championship silver medal behind his brother, meaning that the Liu brothers finished not only in the first two places in the 1000 meters but also in the super final.
The day ended with the 5,000-meter men's relay, in which the Hungarian team with Liu Shaolin Sándor, Liu Shaoang, John-Henry Krueger, and Csaba Burján finished in 2nd place.
The Hungarians finished the world championship with three gold medals and three silver medals, thus giving their best performance of all time!
